Ruby Benson (@ragsxruby), Michelle Siman (@simansays), Stella Speigel (@wellnessbystella)

The discussion was moderated by Carmella Dela Cruz, Marketing Manager at Pure + Simple and began with a round of introductions. The panelists then shared their stories about their journey of self love.

The audience learned about how self care + self love are connected as the panel shared experiences that lead them to be more self aware + realize that two terms are interchangeable.

Sandra + Shari shed light on how to move past our inner dialogue of self criticism, shame + judgement to a place of acceptance + self love, by sharing instances from their personal lives. They discussed vulnerability and how it is important to be fearlessly vulnerable, in order to fully accept ourselves + live courageously in our skin.

Sari shared her insight into the role of mindfulness, which she describes as something we all naturally possess. It is “being fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing.” She also gave the audience some great tips about how to tune it into self love.

Jordana started with debunking the common myths around eating healthy, and told us why nutrition + self love, both have to be holistic to achieve the best results. “Eating healthy is not a punishment. It is about honoring your body, being aware of what it loves and nourishing it accordingly.” She also touched on the misconception of emotional eating as self care and gave some pointers on how to incorporate fitness + nutrition in self love.

The discussion concluded with our Wellness Warriors sharing their Self Care "aha" moments that motivated them to take their self love more seriously. It ended with an enthusiastic round of Q&A.

The evening left our attendees inspired, grateful, and loved. We’re grateful to have learned so much about overcoming the feeling that self care is selfish + reclaiming that love for ourselves.
