Postpone If Your Skin Is Not at Its Best

  • Post-Facial Care

After your IPL treatment, it’s normal to experience some temporary sensitivity. Here's how to care for your skin and protect your results:

    What to Expect:

    1. A mild sunburn-like sensation
    2. Redness and/or mild swelling (usually subsides within 2–72 hours)
    3. Appearance of stubble or treated hairs for 7–30 days (this is not new hair growth)

    Immediate Care:

    1. Apply cool compresses for 10–15 minutes every hour as needed
    2. If redness or blistering occurs, apply an antibiotic ointment twice daily until healed
    3. Avoid makeup on blistered or healing areas
    4. Apply SPF 30+ daily—15 minutes before sun exposure and reapply as needed. Hats and protective clothing are strongly encouraged for treated areas.

    What to Avoid:

    1. Direct sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners
    2. Harsh topical products (acids, exfoliants, acne treatments)
    3. Hot tubs, saunas, or activities that cause heavy sweating
    4. Swimming in chlorinated pools (wait at least 24 hours)
    5. Do not pick, peel, or rub the skin, as this can lead to pigmentation changes or scarring.
