• Pure + Simple’s Holiday Makeup Look

It’s getting to be that time of year! We all have holiday gatherings and, if you’re anything like me, you’re looking forward to your company Christmas party. So, for this blog entry we’ve asked our very own esthetician (and makeup guru) Janet, to come up with a holiday look using some of our Pure + Simple makeup. The beautiful Shelley, manager of our King Street location, has volunteered to be our model for this occasion. Here is the completed result! Doesn’t Shelley look festive?

    FOUNDATION
To start, we began with one of our FLAWLESS FOUNDATIONS and brushed a MINERAL POWDER. This will, of course, compliment your own colour and free colour matching are done in-store with our staff.
Apply the CRÈME FRAICHE concealer on the top of the lids as a lid primer and set it with the MINERAL POWDER that compliments your skin tone.

    EYES
Find your favourite shimmery or metallic colour (we used AUTUMN FIRE because copper finishes are really hot this season!) and press it all over the lid with a flat eye shadow brush.
Blend a little of this colour into the crease.
Use a darker and complimentary colour and work it into the last 1/3 (outside corner) of the lid. For this we used Pure+simple’s CHOCOLATE.
Be sure to blend it into the crease.
Highlight the brow bone and the inside corner of the eye with LUSTER.

Line both the upper and lower lid 1/3 of the way in with the BLACK EYELINER PENCIL.
Smudge and blend this with MIDNIGHT eye shadow.
Blend some of the AUTUMN FIRE on the lower lash line to complete the look.
Apply a black MASCARA on the upper lashes only.

    CHEEKS
Contour the cheeks with SOFT BRONZE powder by putting it just below the cheekbone and blending up.
For the actual apple of the cheek, use the BLUSH face colour.

Apply PINK PEARL over top and then add and blend it on the upper cheekbone for highlight

    BROWS
It’s important to remember that the eyebrows are the framework of the face, so in order to make the eyes pop, the eyebrows should be filled in. We used SABLE powder for this.

    LIPS
To compliment the eyes, we used SAVANNAH lip gloss. It’s a somewhat nude colour with some peach tones.
    TO NOTE:
Your eye colour doesn’t have to be copperish. Use any metallic tone and compliment it within the same family. The lid should be shimmery/metallic and the contouring and blending is with the complimentary colours.
A shimmery colour and highlighting will make your look more festive.
