  • Design Forward 2017 Final Showcase And Winner Announcement

    After 10 semi-finalists showed 3 looks each on our Design Forward Runway in May, the Jury of 10 Experts narrowed the list down to 3 Finalists using a scorecard that evaluated each designer’s Sustainability Initiatives, Overall Design & Business Acumen.

    These 3 scores were our Design Forward 2017 Finalists: Omi Woods, Triarchy and Peggy Sue Collection. Each of them participated in the Finals Presentation & Showcase on October 3rd at EDIT – Expo for Design Innovation & Technology.

    The vanity stations were set up in open beside the stage where Pure + Simple make up artists got the models make up ready. Our trained makeup artists - who firmly believe that makeup is not to make you look a certain way, but to highlight your personal beauty, - took over the backstage + worked their magic using all-natural makeup straight from Pure + Simple spas, like Jane Iredale, Fitglow + Pure + Simple’s own Flawless Complexion line.

    This evening kicked off with a cocktail reception, which allowed guests an intimate opportunity to meet and connect with each finalist, to learn their personal stories and to spend time with their collections.

    This was followed by a panel discussion lead by the Fashion Takes Action founder, Kelly Drennan. The designers talked about their inspirtion, mission, vision + values. They gave the audience an insight into what's it's like to be a sustainable fashion designer and then presented their fashion.
